1. We've had two significant floods in the last two years, and climate change & latest analysis indicate that they will become more frequent.
2. We've been dealing with the council for approximately eight years on a permanent flood prevention solution, and while minor changes have been made, we'll still have a major flood last year.
3. This has caused residents to be out of their homes for months, other homes damaged (approx 20 in total), and insurance premiums increased up to 3 fold.
Our Main Objective, but please put it into your own words.
Our main objective is to get the burn dredged as silt and stones were washed down over the years, significantly reducing its capacity. Hence, it floods over the Dalvait Bridge and downstream culvert. Dredging the burn to its original levels would significantly enhance its capacity to cope without flooding.
